Sir Henry Productions was created in 2023 by Sarah and Joe Sutherland. Sarah is an actor, writer, and marketing professional in Atlanta who has always had a strong belief that comedy is one of the most healing and transformative genres. Joe – in addition to being an AI expert, Emory University Professor, consultant, and far too many epic things to list – has a penchant and passion for media production.

As a kid, Sarah used to steal her family’s Sony video camera, filming herself imitating comedy greats like Martin Short, Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Ben Stiller, and Robert De Niro. In VCR footage that surprisingly made it to the family archives, she is seen interviewing and videotaping family members, remarking “I want to be…a filmmaker!” (as they diplomatically implore her to get the camera out of their faces).

Fast forward many years and that dream has officially come to life.

SHP produces comedy films and sketches that draw on personal stories, or are simply products of a ludicrous shower thought brought to life. Sarah is particularly interested in exploring themes around self-image, personae, identity, and to what lengths people go to protect – or project – certain versions of themselves in the world – all through the lens of comedy.

The company’s mission is simple: to explore the underbelly of the shared human experience by creating works that bring people joy, laughter, and a sense of camaraderie.

Sir Henry Productions is named after Joe and Sarah’s sweet little Havanese dog, Henry.
